Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Urine (Random or 24 hr)
Container/Tube: Sterile Plastic Container
Specimen Volume: 50 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 10 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Label specimen with patient’s full name, date of birth, date
& time of collection (Both Start & End Times for 24-Hour
Urines) and person collecting.
2. For 24 Hour Urines: Refrigerate during collection
and follow instructions for “24 Hour Urine Collection”
under “Specimen Collection and Handling” within the
links menu on the left side of the screen.)
3. Refrigerate specimen during transport.
